My branding and design process is an adaptive four-stage method outlined here. The method follows the standard design-practice of Discovering, Defining, Developing and Delivering products and services.
The process is iterative – the various phases are simply structured this way to provide a framework, within which is room for creativity, play and direction-changes if needed.
All aspects of the phases are negotiable.

What’s not included: illustration; photography; image purchases; sub-contracted jobs (i.e. courier delivery); website programing + build (outside of a simple 6-page WordPress site); website registration, purchasing and/or setup; website workshop/tutorial; print, paper and production costs; marketing and/or advertising; and social media things.

Creative work presented to client: three brand options applied to a range of usable materials
Style options developed for client’s main programs. (These are produced in addition to the ‘brand’)
Client chooses one of three brand + program options before continuing to Phase 3
Chosen design is developed futher, fleshing out specifics, choosing type, refining images, illustrations, etc.
Chosen brand option is designed for all materials: business cards, website mock, swag, etc.
Creative work presented to client
Design adjustments made if necessary
Copywriting, photography art-direction, ‘easy’ illustrations (complex illustrations cost more)
Final presentation of creative work to client team. All final decisions made on design
Creation of Brand Standards Manual. Work with client to nail down details
Brand Standards Manual delivered to client team. 14–16 page ‘Lite’ version (more pages = cost upgrade)
Artworking of files for use in print/web/media. All files handed to client for their own use
Continuing to work with and for client as required for additional design + spatial asthetic needs
Support + Admin
Work Planning, meetings, workshops, phone calls, emails, project management, gathering quotes, researching printers, production, accounting, small printing costs, sample requests and follow-up.
